Responsibilities

The Marketing Associate is responsible for supporting the various functions of the Marketing and Communications Department with primary focus on content creation, conference and event support, project organization, and social media. The Associate will also help implement CCS’s online and interactive new media strategies. The successful candidate is a fast learner and is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple projects at once. Key skills desired include strong writing ability, understanding of social media practices with a business eye, and ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Knowledge of marketing automation platforms a plus.

 

Duties:

 

Content Creation/Layout

  • Edit and proofread blogs/reports and other external marketing documents
  • Assist with the drafting and editing of special marketing pieces including press releases, e-mail marketing campaigns, direct mail, and other projects
  • Update/edit branded templates and PowerPoint presentations
  • Creation of internal communications pieces (articles, newsletters, emails)
  • Quarterly and systematically update marketing copy and project descriptions as well as corporate marketing and sales materials to confirm accuracy and consistency
  • Participate in updating and maintaining the firm’s website

Conferences and Special Events

  • Provide support in coordinating conference logistics, including booth and collateral shipment, registrations, etc.
  • Help design and draft pre- and post-conference/event communications
  • Update conference calendar (external/internal) throughout the year
  • Provide special event support as needed

Database and List Maintenance

  • Regularly maintain and update contact lists in coordination with business development managers
  • Regularly maintain and update collaborative Marketing project worksheets
  • Layout and distribute emails according to brand when needed
  •  

Social Media

  • Monitor and develop content for the firm’s social media presence; creatively and proactively engage with CCS communities
  • Effectively execute marketing strategy on a daily basis on multiple platforms (Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook etc.)
  • Locate relevant content to share across various online platforms
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, trends, and applications and appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use of social media at CCS as well as following
  • Assist with drafting and editing announcements across platforms

 

News/Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor clipping service for industry and company-specific news
  • Disseminate news to relevant internal parties

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of non-profit environment preferred
  • Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Creativity and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to balance myriad tasks and deadlines efficiently
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of content management systems, CRM, and bulk email software (e.g. Marketo)
  • Experience working with project management software (e.g. Smartsheet)
  • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms/tools and emerging new media
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, communication, journalism, public relations, or a related discipline)
  • 2+ years of related work experience
